Shared Lives Herefordshire campaign website

Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to sharedlivesherefordshire.co.uk. It covers this campaign landing page, its enquiry form, video player and thank-you page. It does not cover websites that we link to.

Using this website

This website is run by Herefordshire Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. You should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% and read the content without having to scroll in two directions;
  • navigate the website using a keyboard;
  • skip the repeated header and move directly to the main page content;
  • understand and correct errors in the enquiry form;
  • start, pause and stop video yourself, with no automatic playback; and
  • use English captions on each video.

The important information in the videos is also covered in written content on the landing page, so watching a video is not required to understand Shared Lives or make an enquiry.

Feedback and contact information

If you find an accessibility problem that is not listed here, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, contact the Shared Lives team:

If you need information from this website in a different format, such as large print, easy read, an audio recording or braille, please use the same contact details. The team will consider your request and tell you when you can expect a response.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Herefordshire Council is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

The five embedded YouTube videos have English captions, but some important visual information may not be fully described in the soundtrack or by an audio-description track. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.5, Audio Description (Prerecorded).

Another way to access this information: all the essential recruitment information and the enquiry form are available as text on the landing page, so you do not need to watch a video. Each video also links to YouTube’s transcript options.

Third-party content

This statement does not cover the accessibility of external websites, including Herefordshire Council information pages and YouTube. Those services are responsible for their own accessibility.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We test the website after significant changes to the form, videos or page content. We also review any accessibility issue reported to the Shared Lives team.

Analytics and advertising cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this campaign website and whether the enquiry journey is working. We also use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure campaign visits and successful enquiries from Facebook and Instagram advertising. These optional analytics and advertising tools remain off unless you select “Allow optional cookies”.

Your choice is saved in your browser so the website can remember it. You can change it at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. We do not send the name, postcode or town, phone number, email address, message or submission reference from the enquiry form to Google Analytics or Meta.

After a successful enquiry, the website uses a short-lived, necessary session cookie so that only someone who has submitted the form can view the thank-you page. This cookie is not used for advertising or analytics.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This website was last tested on 17 August 2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. The test was a self-assessment carried out by Byte Digital and covered every page on this campaign website, including keyboard navigation, mobile reflow, the enquiry form, analytics consent and the video dialog.
